Urban Zulu Creative Group ("UZC", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and safeguard personal information when you visit urbanzulu.africa (the "Site"), contact us, or otherwise engage with our Marketing, ICT, Project Management or Communications divisions.

This Policy is issued in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") and, where relevant, the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"). By using the Site or submitting your information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

2. What Information We Collect

We only collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, primarily through our contact form and direct correspondence. This may include:

• Your email address;
• Your company or organisation name, where provided;
• The subject and content of any message you send us;
• Any telephone number you choose to include in correspondence.

We do not knowingly collect financial information, government identity numbers, or special personal information (such as health or biometric data) through this Site.

Your email address is the primary way we identify and communicate with you when you submit an enquiry. We collect it specifically to:

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes or proposals, deliver contracted services, maintain our client and supplier records, and meet our own legal, accounting and administrative obligations. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

6. Cookies & Third-Party Services

This Site uses a small number of third-party services that may set cookies or process limited technical data (such as your IP address) independently of us:

• Google Maps — embedded on our Locations and Contact pages to show our office addresses;
• Fontshare — used to load the Satoshi typeface used across the Site;
• Lenis — a scripting library used purely for smooth-scroll behaviour and does not collect personal information.

These third parties operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this Site.

7. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Employees and sub-contractors of UZC who need it to respond to your enquiry or deliver a service;
• Our email and hosting service providers, solely to operate this Site and our inbox;
• Any party where we are required to do so by law, regulation, or a valid order of a competent authority.

8. Cross-Border Transfers

Some service providers we rely on to operate this Site (for example, font and content-delivery services) may process data on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to a law, contract or binding arrangement that provides an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information collected via the contact form only for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, and thereafter as required to meet our legal, accounting or dispute-resolution obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

10. Security Safeguards

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information in our possession against loss, unauthorised access, interference, modification or disclosure, including restricted access to our inbox and systems and the use of secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) on this Site.

11. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Be notified that your personal information is being collected;
• Access the personal information we hold about you;
• Request correction, updating or deletion of your personal information;
• Object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds;
• Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent, at any time;
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (see Section 15 below).

12. Children's Information

This Site is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as required by POPIA.

13. Access to Information (PAIA)

In accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act, you may request access to records we hold, subject to any applicable grounds for refusal set out in PAIA. Requests can be directed to our Information Officer using the contact details below.
